Yellow fever vaccination is required or recommended for travel to parts of East Africa, depending on your itinerary and where you're travelling from. We'd recommend speaking to a travel health clinic or doctor 4–6 weeks before departure for personalised advice, including malaria prevention.
It depends what you want to see. The dry seasons (roughly June–October and January–February) generally offer the easiest wildlife viewing, since animals gather around water sources and vegetation is lower. The Great Migration's river crossings typically happen between July and September in the Mara. We're happy to advise based on what you most want to experience.

Yes — safaris are a well-established, professionally run part of tourism across East Africa, and our guides are experienced in keeping guests safe around wildlife. As with any travel, we recommend sensible precautions, comprehensive travel insurance, and following your guide's instructions in the field.
Light, neutral-coloured clothing, a good hat, sunscreen, binoculars, and a camera are the essentials. For gorilla trekking or mountain climbing, you'll need sturdier hiking gear — we'll send a detailed packing list specific to your itinerary once you've booked.
Most lodges and camps offer WiFi, though connectivity can be patchy in more remote areas — which, for many guests, ends up being part of the appeal. Mobile signal is generally available in and around most major parks.
US Dollars are widely accepted across the region, alongside local currency. Tipping isn't compulsory but is customary and appreciated for guides and camp staff; we can share suggested guidelines once your itinerary is confirmed.
Solo travellers are very welcome. We can match you into an existing group departure or build a private itinerary just for you, depending on your preference and budget.
For peak season travel (especially July–October) or trips involving gorilla permits, we'd recommend booking several months ahead, as availability is limited. For other times of year, we can often accommodate shorter notice.
